Who’s working on Club Swinging Essentials?

And how’s it coming so far? I’m going through the ETK ROP again and have been practicing with the Clubs on my variety days and occasionally after a press session. All I’ve worked on is practicing the first two Movements and not at any high speeds yet and already I’m seeing a difference in my ROM and my press grove. My shoulders feel great and I’m not even half way into the program. Another nice little WTH effect has been my Snatch groove has improved as well. Especially on the left side which, from a previous shoulder strain, has had some ROM issues that the TGU and Arm Bar couldn’t quite hit.

The ONLY issue I’m having, and I’m sure it’s a grip thing, is on my right hand. The muscles connecting the thumb to the palm (adductor, flexor, and abductor pollicis) tend to wear out pretty fast. I want to blame overuse (computer mouse) for this as these muscles will cramp out while the rest of my hand(s) are fine.

So, I’d love to hear about other Comrade’s Club Swinging experiences and if anyone wants to chime in on the thumb thing, I’m all ears…
