What’s the truth about Creatine? I know it’s part of an energy source within our body ( ATP-CP) but as a supplement is it any good? The jar I saw at the store recently showed alot of carbohydrates, 40+ grams I think. If it’s just extra carbs/calories, which I don’t want, I can just eat extra food ( rice, fruits, etc.) rather than spend $30 or more. While I do add egg protein powder to my oatmeal, again I add, not just drink or eat by itself. Bars and shakes are for convenience as well as nutrition when I’m at work or at the beach or track, but I prefer to eat real food ( eggs, fruit, etc) when I’m home.Creatine claims it makes your muscles more energetic, thus allowing you to work out harder. Some claim it can even improve my performance ( speed, strength, etc.) as well as lowering my body fat. I eat good ( no junk food, no sugar, lots of water, meat, vegetables, etc.) and work out hard ( kettlebell, run,swim/lifeguard,etc.) and compete ( 5ks,1/2 marathons). I’m 43.Would Creatine be a good, drug free supplement/help or just a waste of $?
