I just want to give huge credits to Pavel.
I bought his books Beyond bodybuilding and Power to the people a couple of months ago. It was an eye opener for me. I’m naturally skinny and not very strong but I managed to put on a bit of muscle in the last 3 years just training hard the bodybuilding way(failure training), but at a huge cost all my joints got very sore and my strength only went up a little bit.
Now here is someone who’s saying not to work to failure and not to go hard all the time but to cycle strength training.
He cut trough the big mess that bodybuilding is and just delivered the truth just like Bruce Lee did in martial arts.
I started using some of Pavel’s principles and techniques for the bench press.
My previous 1RM best was 100kgs(220pounds) and it took me 2 years to get the last 20 pounds.
For the last 3 weeks I’ve been practicing the bench press 4 sets every day, cycling with 70 to 80% of my 1RM.
And today I decided to try my 1 rep Max.
I tried 102kgs(225 pounds), it felt light. So I put another 5poundson the barbell and it still felt light.
So I decided to add another 10 pounds thinking that I wasn’t gonna be able to lift it.
And the results went beyond my expectations. I managed to lift 241 pounds! And before 220 pound were a real struggle.
So I now its a long post but Pavel deserves it, to show that he helped yet again another person become stronger and better his training.
I’ll be applying all of his principles and techniques to my other lifts and I’ll post my results in a couple of months.
So Pavel Thank you very much for opening my eyes and not letting me waste years of my life training for nothing.
