I am getting ready to start the DeLorme program in Beyond Bodybuilding. I will be doing this workout in the gym during the busy time and the plates are in short demand in the bench press area, hence I would like to know if it will be as effective (or perhaps more so) to use dumbbells for my chest presses instead of the barbell. It would go quite a bit quicker to do 50%, 75%, and 100% back to back by just jumping up sizes in dumbbells instead of stripping/adding plates. Any opinions? I know that my weights will not be as much, but then again, my stabilizer muscles will get quite a beating.
