Recommend Old Program Maximum

I have been using KBs for around 2.5 years. My daughter was born about 9 months ago, and my training habits were naturally pretty altered. Doing the ROP and/or the high/low volume pressing program that I was doing before wasn’t really an option due to the unpredictable nature and demands of those first months.I tried and was totally toasted in short order.

Enter the Program Maximum! The Program Maximum is from Pavel’s first KB book The Russian Kettlebell Challenge. This is a free-style program that he developed while he was in the service and is perfectly suited to new dads.

Almost 9 months later, not only did I maintain my strength (my goal) – I am substantially stronger. Now for overall strength and conditioning I still think that the ROP is superior. So, now that I’m settling into fatherhood, I have just started up the ROP again with the 32kg. But when that is not an option I highly recommend the Program Maximum.
