Quick clean question

I’ve seen the downward motion on a kb clean done two ways on youtube. Phil Scarito actually brings the kb back down to the ground and brings it straight back up into another clean. Lauren Brooks bottom of the clean almost looks like the bottom of a swing. (These can both be seen on youtube) I’ve done them both ways but would really like to know which is proper? I’m talking when you’re doing 10 or so reps of cleans.

These are both instructors I trust so I’m a bit confused.
