Pump stretch and hernia

I’ve had my inguinal hernia repaired last August 2009.

Looks like everything has healed up pretty good..occasional discomfort and flare-ups, but was told it was normal.

One thing I noticed however, is recently I’ve been feeling a slight burning sensation during my workouts… more in the beginning.

My usual warm-up consists of 100-200 jumping jacks, 2×10 face the wall squats, some pump stretches, and a few shoulder mobility exercises.

In the last couple of weeks, I’ve had 2 training sessions with an RKC, and noticed I had no flare-ups or discomfort whatsoever in the 90 minute sessions. I even lifted heavier than normal, 24KG snatches and swings.

His warm-up routine was similar to mine, with the exception that he had me do hang squats with a kettlebell, but no pump stretches.

Since my first session with him, I haven’t done any pump stretches in my warm-up and i have to admit, the last week or two, I have felt great, no discomfort whatsoever throughout the day.

Tonight, I thought I’d re-introduce pump stretches… discomfort and flare-ups started up again…

Have any of you experienced the same thing and as a result, given up on the pump stretch?

Is the pump stretch recommended for people who have had recent hernia repairs?
