PTP and martial arts

I have finaly get the book PTP because I have read a lott about it and I like them very much.
As with most off the martial artist I have a normal full-time job for with a family.
So I dont want to spend hours on supplementary training because I can use that time and energy for training my martial arts.

So I like the simplicity off PTP and I think it realy works.
But I have a few questions because I got a little confused.
I saw a review off this book and I read:

The workout itself is surprisingly brief. Only 3 to 5 sets of three to five repetitions and only three exercises, bench, side press and some variant of a dead lift, not all of which need to be necessarily performed on the same day.

I cant find this in the book.. PTP is only two exercises, deadlift and sidepress.

Did I miss something or is it possible to use the PTP priciple on the bench-press to?
And why 3-5 sets off 3-5 reps? I have read only 2 sets off 5 reps.

Last question, to save time or the need to train twice a day (with makes it hard to do) can I do this PTP routine before I start my MA training?
