I’ve just finished reading Power to the People! and am very excited about sticking to the program. However, I seem to be having problems progressing in weight with my side presses. I am also having trouble keeping my mind on proper form and tension. I am currently up to 55 lbs. with the side press (45 lb barbell with two fives on each side) but I can’t seem to get pass that. I’m trying the step cycle (two to three days) as described in your book but even after three days of 55 lbs, now four days, I still can’t progress pass that weight. I am now on workout #8 of my first cycle, and I would like to be able to press 60 lbs before terminating this cycle and starting a new one. What would you suggest for a steadier progression in weight during each cycle? Should I take even more time with each weight (5 days) or is there something else I could do? Also, how could I keep my mind on keeping tense without having it drift to focusing more on reps, that seems to be a problem with me? I appreciate any insight you could share. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Brandon Marone
