I was advised (by people on here) not to do DLs with an injured shoulder but have been doing it anyway, now as the weight is getting heavier, it’s starting to give me twinges in the shoulder so I think it’s best to drop the DLing for now.
I want to do the Program Minimum with a 16KG bell but I can’t do 1-Arm swings with it as I can’t keep my shoulder tight in the socket once fatigue starts kicking in. This aggrevates my shoulder as the bell pulls on the shoulder when it’s loose and out the socket. I’ve found that I can do 2-Handed swings without any shoulder problems though, are these ok to do instead of 1-Handed Swings?
Also I think I will quickly be able to 2-Arm Swing the 16KB for the full 12 minutes, at that stage would it be ok to slowly start doing 1-Arm swings with the same weight but loads more active rest to reduce fatigue on the shoulder and help me keep good form? So I would be doing fewer swings in the 12mins but more active rest. My aim would be to then work up to being able to 1-arm swing alternating arms for the whole 12 minutes keeping good enough form that I can hold my shoulder back in the socket. I presume the upper back muscles would strengthen to enable me to keep good form for longer and stay "tight in the socket" for the duration. Does this sound like a good way to go?
I’m also hoping the TGUs will help with my shoulder, has anyone had any success with these in that area?
Thanks.
