Pavel: ‘Feel free to rest a little longer between ladders, if you wish’.

Hello to all. I have followed Enter The Kettlebell for the last 12 months or so, having worked through the Program Minimum to the ROP with (now) a 24 for both cleans and presses and swings. I know that Enter The Kettlbell leaves rest between ladders/rungs to the individual.

But, I bought Beyond Bodybuilding out of curiosity a few months back. There, Pavel Tsatsouline says that ladders will give strong, dense, muscle. He also recommends resting as long as the previous ‘rung’ took and to feel free to rest a little longer between ladders if the trainee wishes.

I am just wondering – what sort of rest periods between ladders did Pavel Tsatsouline have in mind when he mentioned ‘ a little longer’ between ladders? I am keen for strength THROUGH muscle growth and am currently using the approach a relative (Danko) on this forum uses – for the last rung of a ladder, rest twice as long as it took before embarking on the next ladder.

If you have read this far, thanks for persevering!
