newb question, time or reps?

Just getting started with the KB Program Minimum. I know that in the beginning I need to focus more on practice than "working out", but I still would like some structure. My questions is with swings. Do people do sets of reps, or sets made up of swinging the bell for particular time interval? If for reps how many reps per set? If for time how long should I swing for each set? I guess I’m pretty average sized 5′10” 175, but I’ve been out of strength training for a long time. My current fitness routines until now have been primarily cardio related.
