I have question that’s been bugging me for the last couple of days. I like to exercise for strength. I also like doing Muay Thai. At this moment Muay Thai doesn’t interfere too much with my strength program. I follow Convict Conditioning and alternate between good behavior and solitary confinement. I also do the ETK PM. I’ve made some good gains. I’m a 27 y/o male at 5’10 160 pounds. I’m on the master step for the pistol squat, master step on Leg raises, Step nine on 1h Push Ups, Step 7 on 1h pull ups, step 6 on bridges, and step 5 on handstand pushups. My PM is a little weaker, I’m getting good results doing 1 hand 44 pound swings and still on the 35 pounder for the TGU.
My problem is this. I’m going to be going to Thailand to train and fight in Muay Thai for 6 months +. I know I’m going to be following the program at the camp. The exercises in Muay Thai are more endurance oriented. Lots of pushups lots of squats etc. The days will be 8 hours 6-7 days a week. I’m afraid my strength Gains are going to be compromised. I’m at a loss. What should I do? Will I still be able to make gains? Will I regress? Can I at least maintain?
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks to anyone who has the time to read this. Thanks also in advance to anyone with helpful advice.
