Military Blog on grip strength…

Military.com has a fitness blog where different trainers and fitness experts blog about different things from cardio to bodybuilding to strength training. Today’s blog was titled Grip Strength: The Hidden Key To Increase Power. It talks all about how grip strength directly translates to overall strength. Thought I’d link to it for the forum to appreciate. It seems that Hardstyle concepts are applicable to more than just kettlebells.

I’m sure that the info isn’t new to many here, but I’ve been fighting with outdated fitness knowledge for 10 years in the Army! It’s nice to see that somebody is trying to update the military’s idea of fitness.

Also, I’d like to throw in that the Army’s new Physical Training manual includes a strength circuit with kettlebells! No swings or cleans or snatches, nothing ballistic. But, honestly, it’s going to be hard enough to train many soldiers to be able to do a simple press or deadlift correctly, and that’s even if the PT Instructors know how to do them correctly. Baby steps, I guess.
