Kettlebell Routines

Review: Return of the Kettlebell

I’m not sure I can speak highly enough about Return of the Kettlebell. Maybe it’s the little things, like how we are walked through the squat with pictures that answer so many questions for the novice or the several pages dedicated to the Hip Flexor stretch. Honestly, the devil is in the details when it [...]

Kettlebells and Deadlifts

Pavel, in your book Russian Kettlebell Challenge, you state that kettlebell training is at least as good for your back as deadlifts. I am currently doing kettle bell snatches and deadlifts during the same workout.

Need help designing a kettlebell routine

I just received my Russian Kettlebell Challenge video and have watched it twice already, but being a beginner I don't have a clue on how to proceed as far as a program or routine is concerned. (Although I have read a few posts about using ladders and that sounds like a good idea.) Also, I will probably use dumbbells at least for the time being.

DOE (US Department of Energy) Kettlebell Man-Maker Routine

This article was written by Bill Cullen, RKC (Russian Kettlebell Certified instructor). This workout routine is highly sought out as a grueling cardio-builder and fat-loss regime. As the title states, it is a man-maker and I would suggest you start out on the easy end of it lest you want to give yourself a heart [...]

Another kettlebell routine

I'm currently doing one-arm snatches with the 24 kg kettle bell, 10-15 reps per hand, resting 30-40 seconds, and then hitting it again until I reach 100-120 reps total. For variety I'll try to reach higher straight numbers with the 16 kg kettle bell, like 30-40 for each hand. I am also ambitiously trying high [...]

Maximum reps for kettlebell snatches?

I've heard that the limit for kettlebell reps should be 100 snatches. Is that 100 snatches per side or 50 per side for 100 total? 100 for each different exercise or total of all exercises?

Breaking Up the Routine

Although kettlebells are awesome for strength building and fat burning, after a while it's my nature to get bored with things (except for my wife, of course). :-) So today I broke down and signed up with Gold's Gym. It's been quite a while since I did any kind of standard bodybuilding type workout, so it'll be interesting to see how things go.

My wife has gone to Gold's with a friend on a guest pass a few times and really likes their "Body Pump" classes, so for our anniversary I thought I'd go ahead and get us a couple of memberships. Yeah, yeah I know… I'm a true romantic.
