KB’s vs. TRX

First of all, I know that it doesn’t have to be either/or. But, at the same time, I know that you can’t divide your time and energy too many ways and still be effective.

My physical therapist is gung ho about the TRX. I showed him my Kettlebells From the Ground Up stuff and demonstrated Indian Clubs with my good arm. He doesn’t really seem sold on Kettlebells or Indian Clubs as much as the TRX. He is starting to move my therapy in the direction of the TRX. I am quite impressed with the TRX. If I wasn’t already so heavily invested in kettlebells I could see myself getting a TRX and not looking back

Again, I don’t want to pretend that it isn’t possible to use both tools, and yes, I am aware that Pavel and Fitness Anywhere just did a joint venture DVD. But, is it possible to state in general terms what the difference in results would be in ETK PM / ROP vs. the TRX? It looks like doing lots of swings would build more overall body power than anything the TRX could do. It looks like the TRX targets individual muscles more. Though the TRX requires a lot of core involvment, how could it develop the power of swings in the butt and back? Would ETK build the arms and legs of the TRX? Would each of these develop a similar appearance overall? Would they each develop overall strength as much? The TRX allows the upper back and poster shoulders to be developed. Would swings and getups do this? Would ETK develop the mid section that I could get from the TRX?
