Kettlebell total workload? Rep schemes

Posted on 6/9/2004 at 6:03AM in Kettlebell Routines.

Is it safe to say that the total workload (total reps per workout) is the most important factor in a kettlebell workout?

For instance in workout A I can use a 16 kg kettlebell and do 40 reps on my right arm, rest 1 minute and do 40 reps on the other arm for a total of 80 reps. In workout B I can use a 16 kg kettlebell and do 10 reps with the right arm, 10 reps with the left arm, rest 1 minute and continue alternating in 10’s for a total 150 reps.

Wouldn’t I be better off doing workout B due to the greater overall volume (workload) of the workout?

(P.S. I know that workout A would probably be better for total endurance but I am looking for the a little bit of everything as in endurance, strength, muscle endurance, calorie burning, etc.)
