Kettlebells and Bulletproof Abs

Posted on 12/17/2004 at 4:09AM in Kettlebell Routines.

My largest kettlebell is perfect for one-arm deadlifts as described in Bulletproof Abs. It's heavy enough to do the job and really works the grip, but is much easier to balance than a barbell and it really works the abdominal obliques. more »

Kettlebell exercise idea

Posted on 12/16/2004 at 4:11AM in Kettlebell Exercises.

Here's a great idea for a kettlebell exercise on Danny John's site. It's called the waiter's walk and is similar to a one arm farmer's walk. The difference is that instead of holding the weight at thigh level you hold it locked out overhead. more »

Deadlift singles & kettlebell set/rep scheme?

Posted on 12/15/2004 at 4:13AM in Kettlebell Routines.

Does anyone do deadlift singles as a workout routine? I'm wondering if there are benefits to singles vs the conventional 5 reps or vice-versa. I've had some problems getting 5 good reps in the deadlift no matter what the weight, but I'm able to go heavy with good technique on singles. more »

Posted on 12/14/2004 at 4:15AM in Kettlebell Routines.

I try and train with kettlebells five days per week, concentrating almost exclusively on snatches and bent presses. I'll do snatches with the 24 kg kettle bell, 10 reps each hand alternating until I reach 150-200 reps (total). more »

Posted on 10/5/2004 at 4:31AM in Kettlebell Routines.

All workouts are done in 20 minutes and rest periods are kept to around 60 seconds.

Workout 1:

- C&J or cleans, jerks separately

Workout 2:

- Stair walk with two 24kg kettlebells(flight of around 40 stairs, down and up is one set)

- High-rep snatches

- Repeat more »

Ideas for kettlebell routines

Posted on 9/29/2004 at 10:22AM in Getting Started.

I've received my Russian Kettlebell Challenge video and have already watched it twice, but I have no clue how to proceed as far as a program or routine is concerned. I have read a few posts about using ladders and that sounds like a good idea and I will probably use dumbbells at least for the time being. more »
