Ok to start kettlebell training with dumbbells?

I am considering the kettlebell book and/or video. I believe I read that beginners do not need to start with a kettlebell, rather just a dumbbell. Is this true or should I order the kettlebell immediately? more »

In the Russian Kettlebell Challenge book, it states that "serious athletes can use kettlebells seven days a week. You'll get a lot less sore." Do you mean people who are already serious, full-time athletes who practice kettle bells seven days a week will get less sore from their athletic activities? more »

I *LOVE* my kettlebell, but… lower back pain

I did a 2 week cycle of PTP and had NO back problems, even though I suffer from chronic lower back pain. I use very good form, holding my breath through the movement. I'm only up to about 215lbs max on the deadlift, and I'm thinking that is an indication that my back may still be too weak for ballistic kettlebell movements. more »
