First ROP test day

I’ve been doing the ETK PM for about 5.5 months and now doing the ROP for 4 weeks. I just hit 5×5 on ladders with the 20kg and had been swinging the 20kg & snatching the 16kg on light days.

As I’d hit 5 x 5 decided to test myself with the 24kg.

I did 5 left which went up pretty easy & could have ground out another one or two. The right hand however, the 5th rep was a real grind out & I only just got it & the form was not great.

This is a bit odd as doing the ladders my right side was definitely the stronger. I am right handed also.

So onto the snatch test wwith the 16kg. I did 10L 10R rest, new set on top of each minute. The aim was to get 200 in the 10 minutes. I started off well, but at set 7 the pain really hit. In the end I hit 180snatches in 10min. Mildly annoying as I’d set a 200 goal before moving up to the 20kg for snatches.

The odd thing here, is bearing in mind the press results I noticed my snatch cadence is massively faster with the right hand than the left and it feels much stronger.

So here is a question, I am now going to start ladders with the 24kg. Now swings – do people tend to match what they press with or should I stick with the 20kg. I feel I can get more out of the 20kg as my grip is definitely the weak point.
