Dave Whitley…looking for an article by you…and ?’ion

I recall reading an article by you under the articles tab of this website about increasing your SSST numbers…by doing sets of snatches and also decreasing your periods of rest over time, until you reach the 200 snatches in 10 min. I can’t seem to find it now however—do you have a link or a brief summary?

I am a ways off from this goal but wonder how to go about working on it. I have gone through the ETK program with an 18lb for snatches/presses and 26lb for getups/swings, and now that I can press the 12kg 5 times each side in a test spent time on the program minimum with a 26lb for press and snatch practice, and 35lb for the swings and getups. I stuck with that until I could do 10 consecutive minutes of getups, and 20 min of swings with 20 swings at the top of each min, then I moved on to the ROP. Yesterday I completed 5 ladders of 4 rungs each for my heavy day (surprised myself that I could do all 5 ladders) and next Sat will aim for 5 rungs in my ladders.

On Mondays I am still keeping my snatches fairly light…doing sets of 5 or 10 per side for the dice roll. My understanding from reading the ETK book is that snatches are done only on one day but would one include your method on a variety day perhaps? Right now I swing extra on Tues and maybe do some things like windmills, and Thursdays I do the special presses outlined in the "special report" from this website (right now doing sets of floor presses with the 35lb).

Just wondering how you can incorporate your program of snatches without overdoing it with all the other kb work. Thanks!

BTW, read about your flood and glad you are OK!
