Due to a ruptured bicep tendon last year, my conditioning is currently lagging well behind my strength. I was able to resume slow grinds well before i was comfortable resuming the ballistic movements. I’m currently working through the ROP, pressing a 32kg bell and swinging/snatching a 24. For my presses, on my hard day my rungs are 4,4,4,3,3. I’ve got a ways to go to complete, but I am currently able to press a 44kg bell for 2 reps with each arm.
My swings and snatches are lagging, though. The "light" day of snatches did not feel so light. It was lower volume than I would do with swings, but I was still smoked after an 8 minute set doing 12 reps per minute. I plan to continue on the ROP, but I wonder if I should put a bit more focus on my conditioning.
Should I take a break from the ROP and put more focus on conditioning, or perhaps just spend more time on conditioning on my variety days?
