You can’t spell new beast without newb. Mine makes me feel like one. My biggest bell before yesterday was 36kg, which I can only press once or twice. I got the beast to do cleans with but yesterday I found out I can do a TGU with it too. So I did some cleans, swings, one TGU per side and some farmers walks. It is back to basics, and really making me focus on technique because I can’t muscle through a bad clean or get up without a whole lot of tension. In a while I may add jerks but I know I should get a better clean first. It is really hard on my grip and just holding the thing in the rack is difficult.
Anyway, figured I’d share what I’m up to, trying to control that new beast. If anybody has any input on lifting a weight that is 133% my max press I’d love to discuss it. I’m not asking for party permission though, because, I just can’t leave it on the floor. That thing is 106lbs of fun.
