I previously worked only with a 16kg bell, but managed to work up to being able to BUP the bell through the entire ROP. I could also clear about 550 swings in 20 minutes and do nearly 30 TGU’s in 20 minutes. I could move with that thing like it was part of me.
Now, that being said, only two weeks ago I cleanly pressed a 28kg just screwing around at my in law’s house. I am wondering whether I should go with the 24kg or go ahead and get a 28kg and work up with it as thought I’d never done kettle bells before in my life.
I am leaning toward taking on the challenge, as I liked the feeling of accomplishment I had when I could barely handle the 16kg and now feel like I could swim with it unhindered. (I wouldn’t try…but still.)
The only thing is, I wonder if anyone has tried this big of a jump? I noticed that I held most of my strength still from my prior efforts with the 16kg, but my endurance went in droves. Endurance will take some work to get back, but I feel like I want to spend as little money as possible on bells since I will be moving in less than a year, and I’m a broke ass college student.
