Need suggestions for routines
Posted on June 8th, 2009With great anticipation I opened my Kettlebell tape and shoved it into my VCR. I was not disappointed. Your presentation and instruction are first rate. The thing is, I'm not sure how to structure a routine.

Posted on June 8th, 2009I'm a reformed HITer. I used High Intensity Training style training in the past and have to admit that I did have a decent amount of success with it. How can I apply HIT protocols to kettlebell training?

Posted on June 8th, 2009I believe kettlebells are the best conditioning tool out there. Saturday and Sunday I did swings & snatches. I started out pretty easy because I didn't want to over do it.

Posted on June 8th, 2009I just received my Russian Kettlebell Challenge video and have watched it twice already, but being a beginner I don't have a clue on how to proceed as far as a program or routine is concerned. (Although I have read a few posts about using ladders and that sounds like a good idea.) Also, I will probably use dumbbells at least for the time being.

Posted on June 8th, 2009I'm currently doing one-arm snatches with the 24 kg kettle bell, 10-15 reps per hand, resting 30-40 seconds, and then hitting it again until I reach 100-120 reps total. For variety I'll try to reach higher straight numbers with the 16 kg kettle bell, like 30-40 for each hand. I am also ambitiously trying high [...]

Posted on June 8th, 2009My largest kettlebell is perfect for one-arm deadlifts as described in Bulletproof Abs. It's heavy enough to do the job and really works the grip, but is much easier to balance than a barbell and it really works the abdominal obliques.

Posted on June 8th, 2009Does anyone do deadlift singles as a workout routine? I'm wondering if there are benefits to singles vs the conventional 5 reps or vice-versa. I've had some problems getting 5 good reps in the deadlift no matter what the weight, but I'm able to go heavy with good technique on singles.

Posted on June 8th, 2009I try and train with kettlebells five days per week, concentrating almost exclusively on snatches and bent presses. I'll do snatches with the 24 kg kettle bell, 10 reps each hand alternating until I reach 150-200 reps (total).

I was pretty excited about the arrival of my 24 kg kettlebell. When I got home from work, there it was still in its cardboard wrapper waiting for me to start playing with it. Shredding the carton, I freed the iron and dusted it off. “I shall call you [...]
