Another PR –Strongman Ranking

AKC has come up with a strongman/strongwoman contest. Basically it is an open weight class aimed at strength where the bigger guys will do well (200 lbs and up). Here are the rankings:

S-36 24+24 reps (Jerk & Clean) with 36kg/79 pounds
S-40 24+24 reps (Jerk & Clean) with 40kg/88 pounds
S-44 24+24 reps (Jerk & Clean) with 44kg/97 pounds
S-48 24+24 reps (Jerk & Clean) with 48kg/106 pounds

S-24 24+24 reps (Jerk & Clean) with 24kg/53 pounds
S-28 24+24 reps (Jerk & Clean) with 28kg/62 pounds
S-32 24+24 reps (Jerk & Clean) with 32kg/70 pounds
S-36 24+24 reps (Jerk & Clean) with 36kg/79 pounds

Basically it is a jerk for 4 minutes, a short break, and then cleans for 4 minutes with one arm switch. I tried the S-32 at 65 kilo (143 lbs) BW and got 48 cleans (24L/24R) and 34 Jerks (17L/17R). So I didn’t qualify with the Jerks, but it is still a PR-especially when I used only DD bells and don’t train jerks that often. :cool:
