Advice?

I am slowly working in my new 28kg bell into my routine and trying to not smoke myself too quickly with it during my sessions. I upgraded form a 20kg bell so the difference is pretty big when it comes to high rep swings. I’m not even trying to snatch the thing yet and have resigned myself to high pulls for a time.

Anyways, I’m loving the brutality of swing sessions, but I’m just smoked way, way too quickly. So what I’ve decided to do is intervals of 10 swings with the 28kg, then 20 swings with the 20kg. Back to back two or three times, then a 30 second rest, repeat.

Is this counter-productive? Are there better ways to go about switching over to the 28kg?

Also, some advice building up to slow presses would be helpful. I’m for now doing ladders of three C&P, but I have to do it the way of dipping slightly under the bell during the press, and meeting the bell on the way down with my body in a sort of catch fashion. TGU’s? Floor presses? I’m uncertain as to what will be most beneficial. Thanks in advance for any advice. :)
